Belgian Pilot Jacket, $249

This classic black peacoat is a must have for any winter wardrobe. Originating back in the 18th Century, the peacoat was worn by European naval officers to protect against the harsh Atlantic winds. The first ever peacoat was created for a Belgian military vessel in 1717, and the Belgian Navy has since referred to these black peacoats as Pilot Jackets. The heavy black wool is durable but soft and while it might not hold up on those Atlantic crossings, this jacket will keep you perfectly warm and stylish on the city streets.
